December 26,2001 Report Supplied By USDA Trucklot buying activity was light and unaggressive following the holiday as dealers assessed the market and at tempted to keep inventories in close bal ance during this seasonally slow period. Offerings of breast items were readily available, with sharp discounting occa sionally noted where product was older and had become difficult to place. Dark meat cuts were at least adequate, al though, legs were mixed ranging bal anced to adequate. Wings were at least sufficient. Movement through retail and distributive channels was generally no better than fair, with spot refill and fea ture activity offering the best draw. The market tone was barely steady on bone in breasts, cautiously steady on the bal- ance.
