Daily National Grain Market Summary St. Joseph, MO October 10,2001 Report Supplied By USDA Wheat and corn bids were slightly higher but soybean bids fell mod- erately lower for the day. Support came from technical strength in wheat pits. Corn bids jumped on improved crop ratings and wet weather. Soybean ratings were down slightly from last week. Wheat 1 to 14 cents higher. Corn steady to 5 cents higher. Sorghum 2 cents higher. Soy- beans steady to 4 cents lower. Winter wheat plantings were up to 70 percent on the weekly USDA Progress report. Export sales continued slow this week for wheat. Corn harvest was listed at 29 percent complete, below the 31 percent five year average. Continued wet weather across the Midwest has been keeping farmers out of fields. Soybean harvest was 40 percent complete versus a 43 percent five year average.
