West Central District 4-H, CENTRE HALL (Centre Co.) The West Central District 4-H and FFA Dairy Show was con ducted Saturday, July 28 at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall. Paul Miller, Harrisburg, was the type judge and Andrea Gar ner, Montrose, was the showman ship judge. Four breeds from five counties 101 animals were ex hibited. Milk Marketing Board Announces August Class I Price HARRISBURG (Dauphin Co.) The Milk Marketing Board (MMB) announced the prices to be paid for Pennsylva nia Class I milk (beverage) for August as an average of $19.15 in the western areas of the Com monwealth, and an average of $19.64 in the central and eastern areas of the Commonwealth. However, the price received by an individual dairy farmer will vary as the component composition of a farm’s milk differs from the es tablished benchmarks of 3.5 per cent butterfat, 2.99 percent pro tein, and 5.69 percent other solids. These prices include the cur rent MMB mandated over-order premium of $l.lO per hundred pounds of milk and the fuel ad justment premium of $.25 per hundred pounds of milk. Since 1988, the MMB has man dated over-order premiums on Class I milk due to adverse con ditions affecting the Pennsylva nia dairy farmer.
