Daily National Grain Market Summary St. Joseph, MO April 25,2001 Report Supplied By USDA Wheat bids closed sharply higher today due to drier weather conditions may lend stress on the late developing winter wheat crop. Corn and soybeans slightly higher on spillover support from wheat pits and fund buying was noted on the Board of Trade. Bids were sharply higher for Wheat 2 to 6 cents, with Kansas city up much as 13 cents. Corn 1 to 2 cents higher. Sorghum 5 cents higher and Soybeans 2 to 7 cents lower. Wheat bids sharply higher as dry weather conditions was a negative factor in the wheat markets. Above normal temperatures are expected, may cause some stress to late developing winter wheat crop. Corn prices were slightly higher as spillover support from wheat pits. Dry weather conditions should aid corn planting progress, and limit further acreage switches from corn, to beans.
