Prices were unchanged to slightly
higher on whites, with majority prices
unchanged on balance when compared
to a week earlier. Trading was only fair,
although interest on whites improved.
Offerings on whole were adequate to
fully adequate and at least adequate on
yolks. The undertone was unsettled as
offerings on whites were short, balance
of other items were irregular. Liquid and
frozen eggs (ingredients included) pro
cessed under federal inspection in the
Eastern region for the week ending Jan
uary 20, 2001 were 1% more than last
week, but 8 % less than a year ago.

Movement of ready-to-cook whole
birds was light and unaggressive, typical
of mid-week activity. Seller offerings
were generally tight on the 2.5 pound
sizes; fully adequate to ample on the 3.0
pound and larger. Live supplies were
about moderate; weights were desirable
to heavier than desired. Processing
schedules were moderate. Less than
truckiot asking prices were unchanged
at 52 to 66 cents. Trade sentiment was
fully steady on the 2.5 pound sizes;
barely steady on the 3.0 pound and heav
ier weights. In the parts complex, bone
