Some of its most notable events include a teachers institute on poultry and egg products; Ag in the Classroom, 4-H embryology school projects, Poultry Progress Day, and many promotional events such as media opportuni ties, a parade float, and a food extravaganza. The banquet was the first au thorized appearance for re cently-appointed Lancaster County and Pennsylvania Poul try Ambassador Rijelle Kraft. “I’ve grown up with poultry,” Gettysburg, PA 717-624-3331 Mt. Pleasant, PA 724-542-7930 Kraft said. For several years she has assisted mother with em bryology projects in York County schools. Kraft’s mother, Mary Jo, is the York 4-H agent, and her dad, George Jr., raises poultry on the family’s York County farm. Kraft also raises fancy fowl and capons for 4-H proj ects. The association presented a $l,OOO scholarship to Kraft, who plans to attend Virginia Tech to study animal science and swine production with a concentration in international agriculture.
