The following plan was developed by the State Soil Com mission to provide a sample of what a complete nutrient management plan, developed for the Nutrient Management Act (NMA), may look like. This sample plan does not en compass all of the planning concerns that may be encoun tered when developing plans under this program. This plan only provides an example of what may be found on the type of farm described in this plan. The format used for this sample plan is just one of many possible formats and contains the required plan elements as outlined in the checklist developed for the NMA program. Planners are not required to follow the format of this sample plan but are expected to provide all the information indi cated on the checklist. Planners should note that the easier the plan is to follow and check, the quicker and more accu rate the plan review will be. It is recommended that plans submitted for review and approval under the act must be accompanied by a table of contents indicating where the various required elements of the plan are. The use of the checklist as a table of contents is a recommended practice to assure all elements have been completed and show where those elements are detailed in plan. This sample plan provides information showing how the numbers in the plan were generated. On most pages, the descriptive information is outlined in call-out boxes. This in formation is generally not required in plans developed under the act, but it helps to show the plan reviewer how the various information documented in the plan derived. Plan reviewers will be checking figures in the plans to assure that they were calculated correctly. In order to assure the timely and accurate review of the plans submitted to the district, the planner is strongly encouraged to submit this type of information with the plan or a computer printout recognized by the NMA program. The inclusion of this in formation in the plan reduces or may eliminate the need for the review staff to contact the plan developer to determine how the information was derived. ed Daily Facilities Fanta Robesonia (Berks Co.)
