Majority prices were unchanged on
whites, balance of items were higher
when compared to a week earlier.
Demand improved and Was fairly good
for yolks, but somewhat slow on whites.
Supplies were about adequate to ade
quate, however sellers were more confi
dent on markets. The undertone was
about steady on whites, but fully steady
to firm on balance. Liquid and frozen
eggs (ingredients included) processed
under federal inspection in the Eastern
region for the week ending July 22,2000
were 3% less than last week, but 10 %
more than a year ago.

Trucklot buying activity was generally
quiet. Offerings of boneless-skinless
breasts were still clearing well at most lo
cations, and bone-in breasts were usually
well-balanced to barely adequate. Dark
meat items were fully adequate to ample,
particularly leg quarters and drums.
Movement through retail and distribu
tive channels was mostly light to fair.
The market tone was fully steady on
breast items, no better than steady on the
balance.

birds was light to fair at best. Seller
offerings were in good balance on 3
pound and smaller sizes. Larger sizes
were readily available and generally
slow to clear. Live supplies were at least
moderate; weights ranged mostly desir
able to heavy. Processing schedules were
moderately heavy. Less than trucklot
asking prices were unchanged at 46 to 63
cents. Trade sentiment was about
steady. Breast items were in close bal
ance and clearing well. Other parts were
at least adequate for the mostly light to
fair buying interest.
