Majority prices were unchanged on
whites, balance of items were unchanged
to slightly higher when compared to a
week earlier. Demand was fair but not
active for immediate movement and im
proved for future shipments. Supplies
were irregular, but sellers were showing
a little more confidence. Undertone was
improved and usually reported as fully
steady. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingred
ients included) processed under federal
inspection in the Eastern region for the
week ending July IS, 2000 were 14 %
more than last week, and 9 % more than
a year ago.

The market tone was steady to fully
steady. Demand was moderate to good,
best where featured. Supplies were gen
erally adequate on all sizes. The New
York State shell egg inventory was 6 per
cent less and the New Jersey inventory
was 27 percent more than last Monday.

ranged steady to firm, mostly steady to
fully steady.
Retail and distributive demand was
light to good, best where scattered fea
ture activity was a factor. Supplies were
mixed ranging generally adequate to in
stances close. Breaking stock supplies
were tight to fully adequate for the
mostly moderate to at times good
demand. Light type hens were adequate
for slaughter requirements.

In Philadelphia, all prices were un
changed to 1 cent higher, in new eng
land, prices were 2 cents lower on large
and unchanged on the remainder of
sizes. In Boston, prices were unchanged.
The market tone was steady to fully
steady on white eggs and steady to
barely steady for brown eggs, demand
ranged moderate to good, better into fea
ture activity. Supplies were generally ad
equate on all sizes. The New England
shell egg inventory was 3 percent less,
more than last Monday. Breaking stock
offerings were adequate to fully ade
quate for the moderate demand. Light
type hens were adequate to ample for
current needs.
