Following the meeting, mem bers worked on the float, which was in the agricultural division of the 250th anniversary parade on May 13. The club one second place in that division. Horse The Cumberland County Light Horse and Pony Club held its annual open horse show on Sunday, May 21. The show was at Bonny Brook Riding Club. The show consisted of 37 classes with seven divisions. Starting at 8:30 a.m. with the first class, which was Open Halter, the show continued throughout the day. At the end of the show, the grand and re serve champion awards were an nounced. In the Walk-Trot division, Alina Lebo won grand cham pion, and Glenn Gossert won re serve grand champion. Mary Stausbaugh was grand champion in Youth English, and Gwen Thomas was reserve champion. Lebanon County 4-H scholarship winners were recently recognized. From lett are Ellen Leuenberger, Rachael Krall, and Ann Leed. Maxine Maser, president of the Leba non County 4-H Board of Directors, presented the scholar ships to the 4-H members. In Youth Western, Heidi Eveihoch won grand champion with Michelle Thomas winning reserve champion. In Youth Gaming, grand wertt to Katie Gossert, and reserve grand went to Brittany Brooks. Nikki McCaffrey won grand in Open English, with Mindy Williams winning reserve cham pion. Meadville, PA 814-336-5083 Lancaster Fanning, Saturday, June 10, 2000-819 Backtrackers 4-H Club The Backtrackers 4-H Horse & Pony Club will host an Open Youth Schooling Show on Sat urday, June 3. The event will be held at the Northampton County 4-H Center in Nazareth, and it starts at 9 a.m. The event is open to youth ages 8-19 years old. They can participate in walk/trot, walk /trot/canter, jumping, and fun classes. No formal attire is re quired, and food is available. Call (610) 837-7294 for more information. The Jackson Pin Thimblers in Susquehanna County held their March and April meetings re cently. At the March meeting, members elected Lynette Bed ford as president, Kim Reed as treasurer, Mindy Stanton as sec retary, and Julie, Heidi, Kaela, and Beth Page as game leaders. The club also decided on the fund raiser to earn money and what each girl would make in 2000. At the April meeting, Rhay lene Brittan gave out the sheets on what the girls were making this year. Club leaders also dis tributed candy as a fund raiser. During the meeting, club mem bers discussed how to sell all of their candy by the next meeting.
