Above 400,000 SCC the premium was not available as this reduced the amount of cheese yield in the milk. This amounted to an extra $l,lOO per month in 1988. We shipped 143,348 pounds in No vember 1988 and received a bonus of 76 cents per CWT. The price we receive was re duced when the Federal Order started to pay for solids/non-fat, and starting in January 2000, the changes in the milk marketing will affect this again, and we are not sure what the effect will be. In the 10+ years that we have en joyed this market, we have received an added value for our high protein milk of more than $150,000.
