GLANCE
In Chicago and New York prices were
slightly higher. In the Eastern region,
prices were unchanged to slightly higher.
Elsewhere, prices were unchanged. The
market tone tanged steady to cautiously
firm, mostly steady to fully steady.
Demand was generally mixed, fair to good
at times, mostly moderate, and was best for
the occasional retail promotion. Supplies
were usually adequate, but often held with
seasonal confidence. Breaking stock sup
plies were mostly adequate for the fair
demand. Light type fowl were sufficient
for current needs.

whole and whites, but slightly lower on
yolks when compared to a week earlier.
Demand was often light and unaggiessive
for fully adequate offerings of yolks, inter
est on balance of items was moderate but
showing some improvement. The under
tone was at least fully steady on whites and
whole, and barely steady to steady on
yolks. Liquid and frozen eggs (ingredients
Included) processed under federal inspeo
tin in the Eastern region for the week
ending Match 18,2000 were 9 % less than
last week, and 2 % less than a year ago.
Shell egg suppliers were fully adequate for
needs.
