The Allen family milks 120 cows in a double-8 Bou-Matic rapid exit parlor. Their current herd average is 23,000 milk, 900 fat, 750 pro tein. They were the breeders of the popular Glen Toctin Slocum. A highlight in the herd is an 87 point Fatal daughter out of a Celsius. They also dabble in the reds. Savage-Leigh is the next stop. The Savage family milks 200 cows in a double-8 herringbone parlor. Their current herd aver age is 26,214 milk, 1,109 fat, 900 protein and is home to numer ous All-Americans and Jr. All- Americans. A highlight of the herd is Bellwood Linda, a 92- point Bellwood 3-year-old, nom inated All-American and making more than 2,000 fat at 2- 10. She is considered by many to be the best Bellwood in the coun try. Md-Dun-Loaiin is the next stop. The Harrison family milks 100 cows in a flat barn. They have a 26,000 pound herd aver age and a BAA of 108. They also bred numerous All-American and Jr. All-American animals. Currently their produce of dam sired by Charles is nominated Chester Holstein Club Plans Tour PARKESBURG (Chester Co.)-The Chester County Hol stein Club has planned a tour on March 7, 2000 to York County and part of Maryland. The group will be meeting at the Sam Stoltzfus Farm of Parkesburg at 7:45 a.m. The cost is $15.00 and you are to bring a packed lunch, supper will be provided. The tour includes farms such as the Horace Heindel farm, featuring a 200 cow tie stairbarn with an evaporated cooling system, the herd average is Lancaster Farming, Saturday, February 26, 2000-A2l Club Plans Tour and will be a highlight of the stop. The last stop will be Futur land 2020. The Wiles family had developed the Zita family into one of the premier index fami lies in the world. Zita is a 94- point Blackstar with over 2,000 of fat. They have 7 cows in the top 17 CTPI cows in the coun try. This family should show ev eryone what the breed is looking for, when it comes to high pro file index families.
