JOSEPH, Mo.-Angus exhibitors from across the coun try paraded 268 females and 96 bulls at the 2000 National Western Stock Show Super Roll of Victory (ROV) Angus Show Jan. 12-14 in Denver, Colo. Lead judge Randy Daniel, Colbert, Ga., and his associate Quintin Smith, Lebanon, Tenn., evaluated the 364 entries before selecting champions during the two-day show. Famous 7001 captured the grand champion bull title after first winning the senior division. Brockmere Farms Inc., Brook field, Mo.; Summitcrest Farms, Summitville, Ohio; and Roth Angus, Freeman, S.D., own the January 1997 son of S A F Fame. Northern Improvement 4480 GF captured reserve grand champion bull honors for Goldberg Farms, Moorhead, Minn.; Express Angus Ranches, Shawnee, Okla.; and Whitestone Krebs, Gordon, Neb. The March 1998 son of TC Stockman 365 first topped the junior division. In the female show, BT Everelda Entense 166 H claimed the grand champion title. Stewart Kincaid, Hardin, Mont., owns the February 1998 daugh ter of BT Ultima 75E that first won junior champion heifer. TJ Poppy T 522, a March 1998 daughter of O G L Battle Cry 427 128, walked away with reserve grand champion female honors. Jamie Schroeder, Doug las, Wyo., owns the entry that first won reserve junior champi on heifer. The conference headquarters will be the newly renovated Adam’s Mark Hotel in down town Buffalo, N.Y., a short drive from the airport, just minutes away from the magnificent Niagara Falls and a nightlife offering casinos and original Buffalo wings. The National Potato Council, Snack Food Association, New York State growers, Cornell researchers, and many others are working to put together a conference that will enlighten, inform, and even entertain. Early arrivals will have time to take in the sites and sounds of nearby Niagara Falls or other Buffalo scenes. The first group get together will be the evening cocktail reception. Friday, March 3 kicks off the daylong chipping potato pro gram. Maintaining a winning attitude in today’s fast paced, ever changing environment is key, especially when you are running your own business such as farming. Keith Harrell, reknown inspirational speaker, will motivate the group as he talks about the importance of loyalty, teamwork, and attitude. Spouses hold a unique posi tion in a farming enterprise, whether they are directly involved in the day-to-day oper ation or not, they are affected by the stress and pressure that comes with the territory. The planning committee has put together a spouses program that guarantees to recharge and re energize both mentally and physically. Cindy Palmer, writer for Spudman magazine, Mon tana newspaper columnist, mother and farm wife will bring her humor and insight to a morning workshop dealing with the pressures and joys unique to farm wives. Others offer real-life solutions, strategies, and oppor tunities to share personal expe riences during a morning work shop. the entire group will get together for a joint lunch and session with motivational speaker Keith Harrell. The spouses’ afternoon will offer spas, pampering, and a spectac ular site-seeing tour of Buffalo’s winter wonderland.
