ALLENTOWN (Lehigh Co.) -
Six 4-H members were recently
honored as outstanding boys
and girls in Lehigh County
Other awards and recognition
were given to more than 40 4-H
members and volunteers during
the annual achievement night
dinner.
Daniel Post, son of Gail and
Ross Post, New Tripoli, and
Melissa Wirth, daughter of
Darlene and James Wirth of
Orefield, were awarded plaques
and scholarships to 4-H Camp
Shehaqua as Outstanding Boy
and Girl (ages 8 -10). Daniel is a
member of the Lowhill Laurels
4-H Club. Melissa is a member
of the Lehigh County 4-H
Poultry Club.
Todd Lee Bennecoff, Jr., son
of Cheryl and Todd Bennecoff,
Sr. of Kutztown, and Suzanne
Harwich, daughter of Beth and
Keith Harwich of Kempton,
were given plaques and student
planners as outstanding boy and
girl (ages 11-14). Todd is a mem

Recognized For Achievements

Katie Harwich, also a daugh
ter of Beth and Keith Harwich,

Donna Strawbridge of
Whitehall, were named out
standing girl and boy (ages IS
IS). Both will represent Lehigh
County at next year’s National
4-H Congress. Katie is a mem
ber of the Lehigh County dairy
and swine 4-H clubs and the
Lowhill Laurels 4-H Club. John
is a member of the Lehigh
County swine and sheep 4-H
clubs.
Outstanding club officers in
the county were recognized.

The Lehigh County 4-H
Seeing Eye Puppy Club was
honored for the best club scrap
book. The Neffs Cloverettes 4-H
Club and the Lehigh County 4-H
Equine Club were each given
outstanding club awards. All
three clubs received $25 to use
as the members decide.
Eleven volunteer 4-H club
leaders were awarded pins
marking milestones of service.
First-year leaders honored were

Dragovits, Allentown, Lehigh
County Seeing Eye Puppy Club;
Patty Engler, Allentown, Bth

Five year pins were given to
Jack Vanko, Germansville,
Shooting Sports Club; Rachel

Walter Dassler, Slatington,
was awarded a 10-year pin for
his service to the Neffs
Cloverettes 4-H Club.
Medals were awarded to 4-H
members who excelled in a par
ticular project area. Nicole
Wirth, Emmaus, Lehigh County
4-H Seeing Eye Puppy Club, and
David Harwich, Kempton, dairy
and swine clubs and Lowhill
Laurels 4-H Club, earned
medals for overall achievement.
