828-L«nca*ter Farming, Saturday, September 4, 1999 Sale Reports LEBANON CO. HOLSTEIN SALE The 20th Annual Lebanon Co. Holstein Sale was held August 27 at the Lebanon Area Fairgrounds, Lebanon, Pa. An overflow crowd attended the sale. The top price for “choice of flush” consigned by the Weaverline Holsteins, Myerstown Pa. and purchased by Aaron Hoover of Lebanon, Pa. was $3300. The top selling cow was purchased by Jeffrey Hostetter of Annville, Pa. for $2650 and was con signed by John Stump of Bemville, Pa. The 2nd top price was $2500 paid by Lowell Brubaker of Manheim and consigned by Stonehurst Farms of Strasburg, v Pa. The 3rd high-selling cow brought $2450 and was consigned by Elizabeth Walton of Carlisle and pur chased by Karl and Daniel Brandt of Annville, Pa. There were 12 head of cows which sold for $2OOO or more and the average of 25 cows and fresh heifers was $2002. The average of 11 bred heifers was $1740. Three open heifers average $ll5O and 5 choices & embryos averaged $ 1189. Harry H. Bachman was the auctioneer.
