William George is the sixth generation on the farm, his twin sons Kevin and Keith are partners in the farm operation, and their children are the S'" generation. The Georges farm 1,500 acres and milk 375 Hoisteins in a double 10 milking parlor. The herd average is 20,500 lbs. of milk. William has always been fascinated and challenged by the farming operation. He says the same management principles are true today as they were 50 years ago. You need to watch every detail from making sure the cows have a good water supply, are eating enough hay, and have enough good bedding. New innovations such as BST have come along, but the need for good management has never changed. I MEMBER
