Today, Walter and Mary Ellen Detweiler and their son Dale and his wife Pam farm 450 acres that include a number of small plots. Of course they are farming in a more populated part of the state. They milk 50 cows with a herd average of 19,500 lbs. of milk. They have tried to keep the debt load under control by only borrowing money for capital investments and not for operating expenses. The present family owners bought the farm in 1979 and Walter gives his family a lot of credit for helping to keep the farm going. Walter and Mary Ellen have two other sons, Anthony and Laverne. Walter has been farming since he was a small boy and really worked full time here since he was 15 years old. He says farming is in his blood. niters ME FEED BINS ; We assemble deliver ‘SIS^ and set up bins on ’ i?” liHlk * Weather tight die- E | formed roof \* * 'Galvanized roll ' Engineered leg CORE AUGERS braced systems and * Fast flowing hopper bottom FleX-flO™ AUGER SYSTEMS in 2 1/4” dia. to 5” dia. j HOUSING CALF HUTCHES byfe kkMil Calf-Tel™ ■ RH &LH Access jpp*-*' Our Deluxe model features a new extra tall offset entry door opposite a right or left side feed access floor Lets you group hutches side-by-side for easy feeding and service Comes with two large pails inside pail holder and eyebolts for lifting Rainproof ridge top Keeps calves dry and comfortable j Dairy of ■ Distinction
