slaughter steers sold mostly steady to
weak Trading was normal for the day
that the Lancaster Stockyard's largest
commission firm, Walter M Dunlap
and Sons, held its final sale, the
stockyards will never be the same
However, next week's regular Monday
sale will be held and sellers are encour
aged to consign their livestock to the
Lyons, McCoy, or Heilbron brokers

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday;
slaughter steers sold fully steady, turning
mostly firm by days end. The quality of the
steer supply was very good and demand
held up extremely well, considering the
large offering. Holstein steer prices were
steady, compared to Monday's lower
market and slaughter heifers sold .50 low
er. Slaughter cows were steady with Tues
day's active market and the slaughter bulls
sold mostly steady with few outstanding
bulls to test the top of the price range.
Supply included 57 percent slaughter
steers and 28 percent slaughter cows.

heifer demand was very good and sales

Supply included 412 head in the State
graded sale and 88 percent of the supply
returned to feed.
