CATTLE Compared to Thursday,
slaughter steers sold steady to 50
lower The steady prices were noted on
the top end of the fancy cattle and on
the numerous heavy-weight individuals
Holstein steers and slaughter heifers
sold mostly steady The slaughter cow
market was fully steady in a light test

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steers and heifers sold .50 to 1.00
higher with the full advance placed on the
high Choice and Prime quality cattle.
Improvement was hard to find on the plain
er cattle, but discounts were not nearly as
harsh on the heavy-weight individuals.
Holstein steer prices were steady to 1.00
higher. Slaughter cow trading was mixed;
the lean cows (over 85 pet) sold .50 to
mostly 1.00 lower, while the fleshier types
were mostly steady. Slaughter bulls sold
steady with Monday. Supply included 38
percent slaughter steers and 32 percent
slaughter cows.
