However, our local prices continue to fall behind the charging Western feed!at market Direct slaughter cattle from Nebraska to Texas sold 1.00 higher live to 3.00 higher dressed at 66.00 and 105.00. A good week’s offering of Holstein steers sold .50 and instances 1.00 higher, while a light test of slaughter heif ers ended mostly steady. Neatly half of this week's supply was made up of slaughter cows and prices held mostly steady, as slaughter bulls were 1.00- 2.00 higher on a light offering. Supply included 42 percent slaughter steers, 7 percent slaughter heif ers, 43 percent slaughter cows, 5 percent slaughter bulls, with the balance made up of feeder cattle.
