DAILY NATIONAL GRAIN
SUMMARY
All commodities took a bad beating
today and soybeans really got another
whopping. Soybeans are 58 to 60 cents
lower in 'he past twelve hading days.
Today, wheat 2 to 12 cent lower. Com 2 to
6 cents lower. Sorghum 11 to 12 cents low
er. Soybeans 12 to 20 cents lower. Grain
and soybean fanners have a right to feel
like they have lost a big fight Country ele
vator track bids many places now have
corn 1.85, soft wheat 1.75, and soybeans
down around 4.00 per bushel. It is time to
start buying high priced seed, fertilizers
and other chemicals for Spring planting.
The big tractors and combines are not get
ting any cheaper. Rent seems to go up
every year. USDA is not painting a pretty
picture down the toad. US farm export pro
jections are down 15 billion and nearly 10
percent below a year ago and 20 percent
under 1996. The price spread between cur
rent cash market and harvest months on the
Board spreading out but still no hedging

soft winter wheat is around 50 cents with
Texas averaging 75 cents. Hard red winter
wheat LDPs averaging 17 to 19 cents in
most states with Oklahoma 29 cents. Many
soybean producing states currently have
