In fact, noted the Penn State Extension Service Capitol Region Director Dr. Michelle Rodgers, there’s a metaphor she wanted everyone at the celebration to take home: The Golden Gate Bridge of San Francisco. For the bridge, die work on it is never completed. “When the paint ing is finished, they have to start all over again,” she said of the upkeep needed on the magnificent struc ture. The same is true of coopera tive extension. “Our work to improve lives is never done, is a constant job,” she noted. Like the Golden Gate Bridge, extension is constantly updating itself . Rodgers indicated that in the coming months, significant changes have already been put in place.
