After all, it is a good time for families to get together to strengthen family ties and affections. With children return ing home from college and other relatives coming home to visit, it can be a very joyous occasion. It also can often bring on stress and strain that may at times seem to outweigh the goodwill in our hearts. What can we do to cut down on the stress during the holiday season? 54' x 14' x 80' Deluxe Medline Storage Facility Raised Oml Fm Syrtem 76" DnCeirtep • 1-24’ x Is'6’ AlumaSlcel* Sliding Double End Door • 1-22'6'x 14'AlumaSlcel'Sliding DoubleSidcdoor • 1-2 x 6'B 91009-Lilc KYNAR 500' Insulated Walkdoor • 2-4 \ V 0 Lite Insulated Sliding Windows with Screens and Shuiiers • 8 Slybghls •2 26' x 2’6 Cupolas (no lans) • I Vcnicd Sidewall Ocrhangs • 2'Gable Overhangs • Continuous Ridge Vcnnlaiion System • Exienor Hi Rib Sled Wainscot wnh Interior Protective Liner • Revolutionary FIUOROFLEX 2000' Rool Paint System • Prem-um KYNAR SOO’/HYLAR Sooo' Sidewall Pami System • 50-Year Snowload Warraniy No Weight Limn • SO Year Warraniy on Laminated Columns and Treated Lumber • 20 Year Pami Warraniy Including Red Rusl • 10’Year Wind Warraniy on Doors No Vclociiy Limit • 5-Year Wind Warraniy on Building. If you are traveling, save a couple of days just for recuperating. While visiting, don’t overstay your welcome and let your hosts know when you will be coming and leaving. Don’t depend on hosts to keep you entertained. Remember to help out as much as possible. (They have a certain amount of stress in their lives just getting ready for you to visit—you don’t want to add more to their list). li/fIMUMMEm)P./l 7 W/f?F WFRfJs. 800-447-7436 «*■ i,, "" il * nmir Mk MORTON wwwJortonMfa,conlb ffw O O 1998 Morton Buildings, Inc There will be some problems when a number of people are cooped up together for an extended period of time. This can be magnified when family members have been away for a period of time and then re-enter the family system. A simple thing like a child coming home from school for the holiday vaca tion can throw everyone’s rou tine into a spin. This child comes home assuming he will resume his place in the family exactly as it was before he left home. But the reality is that for you there is one more person to feed, pick up after, and make demands on your time and patience. You cer tainly are elated that he is home, but the reality is that there is a temporary “adjust ment period” for everyone in the family. Another suggestion is to help set a slower pace at your house. Build in some “creative” breaks during your holiday. For exam ple, take the kids out to the movies or go bowling. (The housework can wait for another day or ask the person who is the Lancaster Farming, Saturday, December 5, 1998-B9 most concerned about the disar ray of the house to take care of it). Plan some equal time for the adults in your household as well or just simply take time to rest. Don’t overbook yourself and' your family! Meaningful family activities will help keep the holidays from becoming boring and producing stress related conflict. Research has shown that strong families are those who take time to express love and appreciation for each other. Try this idea. Get all the family members together and select one person to be the recipient. Every family member then takes turns tell that person what they are thankful for about that person being present and celebrating the holidays with them. Go on to the next person until everyone has been includ ed. This exercise will add true meaning to the family holiday celebration and be an excellent gift to one another. Have a wonderful holiday! ■“ A •* J S ED WVContuctonUons# #WV 007848 (Tarmfflomem J Societies Berks Society 6 Berks County Farm Women Society 6 celebrated Farm Women’s Day on Oct 14, with a luncheon at Fiara’s Restaurant, Fleetwood.
