slaughter steers and heifers sold mostly
50 lower Demand was moderate, at
best, and prices continued lower this
week, after Monday's limit-down fu
tures market Holstein steers were not
well tested Slaughter cow trading was
active and prices were mostly 50 to

CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steer and heifer prices were .50
lower. Quality of supply was much
improved from last week, but continued
pressure leading up to next week’s turkey
holiday held prices 1.00-150 lower than
last week. A light test of Holstein steers
sold mostly steady. Slaughter cows sold
fully steady and bull prices were 1.00,
instances 2.00 lower. Supply included 26
percent slaughter steers and 37 percent
slaughter cows.

and Prime 2-4 1065-1435 lbs 61.85-64.00,
few outstanding up to 64.75. Choice 2-3
1115-1445 lbs 59.50-62.00, few high

tion, veal calves sold 3.00-4.00 lower. A
light test of slaughter calves sold 10.00
higher, heavier weights were mostly steady
to 5.00 lower. Trade turned very active for
Holstein bull farm calves, soon after the
start of the sale, and prices were 5.00-15.00
higher. Holstein heifeis were not well
tested Monday, but prices definitely had a
higher undertone and demand was very
good. Around 88 percent returned to feed.
VEALERS: Good and Choice 70-110
lbs 15.00-25.00. few op to 28.00. Standard
and low Good 60-90 lbs 11.00-17.00.
