slaughter steers sold 50 lower. Trading
was still fairly active and their seems to
be good stability at the current price
levels Holstein steers and slaughtei
heifers were mostly steady A limited
test of slaughter cows traded mostly

light offering of slaughter steers and
Holstein steers sold steady. Premiums
were very good for the outstanding
steers, but not quite as high as last
week. Slaughter heifers were ■ not

higher The Holstein heifer market lost
part of its spark as prices were 7 00-
10 00 lower Supply included 638 head
in the State graded sale and 85 percent
of supply returned to the farm.

CATTLE: Compered to Tuesday, the
slaughter steer market remained steady.
The auction opened stronger on refutation
cattle and then weakened as the bulk of
supply was mostly average in quality; for
the week, fat steers closed mostly steady to
.50 lower. A light test of Holstein steen
and slaughter heifers traded steady to
weak. Slaughter cow weigh-ups were
mostly full and prices were .50-1.50 lower,
with the full decline placed on the leaner
cows. The slaughter bulls sold steady to
1.00 lower. Supply included 38 percent
slaughter steers and 36 percent slaughter
cows.
