The auction opened stronger on refutation cattle and then weakened as the bulk of supply was mostly average in quality; for the week, fat steers closed mostly steady to .50 lower. A light test of Holstein steen and slaughter heifers traded steady to weak. Slaughter cow weigh-ups were mostly full and prices were .50-1.50 lower, with the full decline placed on the leaner cows. The slaughter bulls sold steady to 1.00 lower. Supply included 38 percent slaughter steers and 36 percent slaughter cows.
