Lancaster County Banquet Brings 4-H’ers Into Spotlight

Farm and Home Center in
Lancaster.
Becky Miller, president of the
Leaders Advisory Council and
organizational leader for the Boots
and Saddles 4-H Horse Club,
introduced the speakers and made
many of the presentations.
Master of ceremonies was Jim
Shirk, agriculture services mana
ger for the Lancaster Chamber of
Commerce and Industry.
At the banquet, club scrapbook
awards were presented to the
Boots and Saddles 4-H Horse Club
and the Saddle Cinches Horse and
Pony Club. A Club Exhibit Award,
for the best exhibit at the 4-H fair,
went to Spinnin’ Spurs.
Blue Form Scrapbook Awards
were presented under several
categories. Those honored for 1-3
years were Rebecca Diehm, Jenica
Messner, and Carson Weaver.
Those honored for 4-6 years were
Loren Hershey and Erik Nuss
baum. Those honored for 7-10
years include Barry Gochnauer,
Jill Hoffines, Janine Leaman, and
Jessica Schmidt
4-H Fair Book Cover award
went to Sarah Quigg.
Gold ribbon awards, for projects
entered at the fair, were Rachel
Buckwaller, textile science and
scherenschnitte; Elizabeth Diehm,
horse book; Rebecca Diehm, horse
book; Kelly Dobosh, ceramic
jewelry, beeswax crafts; Leann
Dobosh, beeswax crafts; Allison

In the large and small animal art
and photo contest, winners were
Kim Dietrich for action and Sara
Shimko for humor. Shooting
sports contest winners were,
juniors. Josh Lasdin and Karen
Shaub; seniors, Ken Cramer.

for showing three species of ani
mals at the 4-H fair was Jennifer
Zimmerman.
