    Indiana County Fair Jr. Livestock Sale

INDIANA (Indiana Co.) -
More than 200 head of livestock
were sold at the annual 4-H and
FFA junior livestock sale on
Friday, Sept. 4 at the Indiana
County Fair.
The 112 buyers paid a total of
$96,152.98 for the 121 swine, 65
lambs and 28 steers. Many of
the animals were ribbon-win-

Cross for resale, and was sold
the second time to T.J.’s Mining
for $1.05 per pound ($1,244.25).

steer carcass for $3.00 per
pound ($2,031.00).
Saltsburg Shop & Save
bought Luke States’ reserve
champion steer carcass for $3.40
per pound ($1,985.00)
Elkin Manufacturing bought

pion county-bred steer for $l.OO
per pound ($1,162.00).

draft horses to the fair, including “Luann,” who won grand
champion Belgian mare honors. The four-year-old mare,
shown here by Johnston’s grandson, Russell Barnhart,
weighs 2,200 pounds. Johnston’s big horses won two
other grand champion ribbons and one reserve grand
champion ribbon in the Belgian and Percheron classes.
