Correspondent INDIANA (Indiana Co.) - More than 200 head of livestock were sold at the annual 4-H and FFA junior livestock sale on Friday, Sept. 4 at the Indiana County Fair. The 112 buyers paid a total of $96,152.98 for the 121 swine, 65 lambs and 28 steers. The steer was then donated to the Red Cross for resale, and was sold the second time to T.J.’s Mining for $1.05 per pound ($1,244.25). Elderton State Bank bought Joseph Abel’s grand champion steer carcass for $3.00 per pound ($2,031.00). Saltsburg Shop & Save bought Luke States’ reserve champion steer carcass for $3.40 per pound ($1,985.00) Elkin Manufacturing bought Patrick Ackerson’s grand cham pion county-bred steer for $l.OO per pound ($1,162.00). Custom Fab Trailers bought Sarah Sweigart’s grand champi on market hog for $5.25 per pound ($1,233.75) William G. Satterlee & Sons bought Scot Martin’s reserve champion market hog for $4.25 ($1,062.50).
