The 1998 Summer Youth Insti tute was the 38th in a series that began in 1960. It was designed to enhance scholars’ understanding and appreciation of cooperatives, issues of concern to cooperatives, and develop leadership skills. Scholars were sponsored to the institute by local and regional co operatives operating in the Lan caster County area. The Summer Institute is a joint effort of PCC and the Penn State Cooperative Business Education and Research Program (CBERP).
