CATTLE: Compared to Tuesday,
slaughter steer sales were weak. Trading
was very spotty and any strength posted at
mid-week was erased. Demand was mostly
moderate as buyers were apprehensive to
start the bidding. Slaughter heifers were (
not well tested. Slaughter cow prices were
.50-1.00 lower and weighing conditions
were definitely in favor of the seller.
Slaughter bulls sold mostly steady. Supply
included 44 percent slaughter steers and 35
percent slaughter cows.

slaughter calves mostly steady in a light
test Demand for Holstein bull calves was
good with prices ranging 3.00-7.00 higher.
The Holstein heifer calf supply on Monday
was too light to test prices, however, trad
ing was very active and prices were sharply
higher. Near 85 percent returned to feed.
VEALERS: Good and Choice 70-110
lbs 22.00-28.00. Standard and low Good
70-90 lbs 16.00-22.00, few 55-70 lbs down
to 11.00.
SLAUGHTER CALVES: Few Good
and Choice 200-350 lbs 75.00-100.00,
mostly 75.00- 85.00. Standard 200-350 lbs
55.00-65.00.
RETURNED TO FARM: Holstein bulls

SHEEP: Compared to Monday's auc
tion, slaughter lamb demand was very
good as prices were 10.00 higher on
weights over 90 lbs. Lighter weight lambs
were as much as 25.00 higher. Slaughter
ewes and aged sheep were 5.00 lower.
