July IS in the Somerset District
Holstein Show, sponsored by the
Somerset County Holstein Club.
The number of participating
animals was higher than usual, ac
cording to one observer.

Powell. At right beside Kenton Is Martha Bender, his mother. His wife, Holly and dad,

champion cow in Oakview-Ridge
Pears, a daughter out of Highlight
Mr Mark Cinder-ET and Oakview
Ridge Pineapple.
Pears was also the best animal
bred and owned in the show for
Oakview Ridge Holsteins owners
Cat! and Martha Bender.

was the premire exhibitor.
In the open show of heifers and
calves Juliana Hillegass of Beilin
had the champion and Melinda
Thomas from Bruceton Mills, W.
Va. had the reserve.
Hillegass showed the youth
show champion and Jenna Fox of
Rockwood showed the reserve
champion.
Ringmaster for the show was
Pete Hamming and Carol Brown
did the catalog.
John Fox and Paul Coountry
man handled check-ins and Bob
Brown was the announcer.
