Dean helps other young farmers by providing land for com test plots and field de monstrations through the Co operative Extension Service, and com silage for the local FFA Chapter. DHIA field staff and technician advisory commit tee met Jan. 28 at the Residence Inn in State College, and prepar ing for the upcoming technicians’ spring conferences was at the top of the agenda. Topics to be discussed at the conferences include the all new heifer program, safety committee update and roundtable discussion facilitated by Dean Amick, direc tor of Field Operations and Mar keting. The spring conferences begin on March 20 and conclude on April 8. A total of 11 conferences will be conducted in different parts of the Pa. DHIA service area. Along with the spring confer ences. Pa. DHIA holds the fall and summer conferences to update and educate the technicians on changes in the industry.
