Lancaster Society 18 Farm Women Society held their meeting Nov. 15 in the home of Carol Fetzer, daughter of member Elizabeth Greider. 22 members and guests attend ed. President Roberta Shepherdson presided. Martha Stover conducted devotions. Roll call was answered by mem ories of experiences with our grandparents. Many shoe boxes are already filled with toys, games, school supplies, and gar ments to be given to needy chil dren as Christmas gifts in December. The program given by Mary Agnes and titled “The Best Bag Lady in Pennsylvania”. Her cos tume was typical of clothes gath ered from “trash barrels”. There was much laughter but while the program was comedy, many times one became aware of the sad fact that in reality “bag ladies” are a group of unnum bered, unloved, homeless mem bers of our county “living” in boxes, etc. We should be aware with true Thanksgiving of the churches of Lancaster which serve one meal a day to those unfortunate ones, thus giving them one bright hour in their dismal lives.
