grand champion of the 1997 All
American Jersey Show, held Nov.
10 in conjunction with the North
American International Livestock
Exposition in Louisville, Ky.
“Jennie'’ stood first in die cow
six years and over class of 19 en
tries. In addition to winning the
class she also captured first place
best udder award. “Jennie’’ has a
305 day record at 4 years 6 months
of 25,197 lbs. milk, 1,257 lbs. fat
and 1,020 lbs. protein and was
bred by Frederick Luchsinger,
Syracuse, NY.
WF Barber Shasta, EX-91%
took reserve senior and reserve
grand champion honors and
placed first and best udder in the
S-year-old cow class. “Shasta” is a
daughter of WF/L&M Duncan
Barbcr-ET and is owned by Todd
Stiles, Clearbrook, Va.
The 1997 premier performance
cow was Nickys Pitino Nicollette
owned by Bachelor Farms, An
gola, Ind. This award recognizes
cows based on their total perform
ance. The award is weighted 50%
on placing. 25% on genetic merit
and 25% on production. “Nico
lettc” had the highest score, plac
ing first in her class (Senior
2-year-old) and having the highest
genetic merit and production
score. “Nicolette” has a USDA In
dex of +1473M +4sf +S3P
+lBBP$ and —2O2CYS.
KJF Renaissance Lacy, owned
by Keightley & Core, Salvisa,
Ky., was chosen as the intermedi
ate champion. “Lacy” topped the
junior 2-year-old class and was
named first best udder for the
class.

first in the summer junior yearling
heifer class against 22 entries. The
reserve junior champion was Pot
well Regal Reba 11F owned by
Norman E. Nabholz, West Union,
lowa. “Reba" placed first in the
junior yearling heifer class.
The Nasco International Type
& Production Award (formerly
MB. Nichols award) was won by
SS Tony Jenni of Lee Hollow. She
received the award for her record
of 4-06 303 25,197 lbs. Milk,
5.0% 1,257 lbs. Fat, 4.0% 1,020

National Jersey Jug Futurity
REYNOLDSBURG, Ohio-On
Nov. 9, 28 entries paraded
through the ring competing for
first place in the National Jersey
Jug Futurity Show held in
Louisville, Ky.
WF Justin Bess-ET, Very
Good-88%, was named the
National Jersey Jug Futurity
champion. She is owned by
Waverly Farm, Clearbrook, Va.
Waverly Farm received $1,770
plus numerous trophies and
banners.
“Bess” was bred by Waverly
Farm, Clearbrook, Va. The win
ner is sired by W.F. Generator
Justin. Her dam is JRS
Volunteer Britani, EX-95%.

consultant during the show.

owned by Sandi Dale Farms,
Dover, Ok., and was bred by
Myers Jersey Farm, Troy, Ohio.
Third place was awarded to
