best udder award. “Jennie’’ has a
305 day record at 4 years 6 months
of 25,197 lbs. milk, 1,257 lbs. fat
and 1,020 lbs. protein and was
bred by Frederick Luchsinger,
Syracuse, NY.
WF Barber Shasta, EX-91%
took reserve senior and reserve
grand champion honors and
placed first and best udder in the
S-year-old cow class. “Shasta” is a
daughter of WF/L&M Duncan
Barbcr-ET and is owned by Todd
Stiles, Clearbrook, Va.
The 1997 premier performance
cow was Nickys Pitino Nicollette
owned by Bachelor Farms, An
gola, Ind. This award recognizes
cows based on their total perform
ance. The award is weighted 50%
on placing. 25% on genetic merit
and 25% on production. “Nico
lettc” had the highest score, plac
ing first in her class (Senior
2-year-old) and having the highest
genetic merit and production
score. “Nicolette” has a USDA In

KJF Renaissance Lacy, owned
by Keightley & Core, Salvisa,
Ky., was chosen as the intermedi
ate champion. “Lacy” topped the
junior 2-year-old class and was
named first best udder for the
class.

& Production Award (formerly
MB. Nichols award) was won by

received the award for her record

first place in the National Jersey
Jug Futurity Show held in
Louisville, Ky.
WF Justin Bess-ET, Very
Good-88%, was named the
National Jersey Jug Futurity
champion. She is owned by
Waverly Farm, Clearbrook, Va.
Waverly Farm received $1,770
plus numerous trophies and
banners.
“Bess” was bred by Waverly
Farm, Clearbrook, Va. The win
