The junior champion and the reserve junior champions of the Brown Swiss show were a pair of Meadow-Hill farm-prefix fall yearling sisters that Alicia bred as well. The junior champion was Meadow-Hill Jade Afton-ET, owned by Alicia’s brother Garrett, while the reserve junior champion was Meadow-Hill Jade Aubtie, owned by Alicia’s younger brother Anthony. Both of the junior champs were embryo transfer calves sired by Bridge View Elegant Jade-Et, out of darn Meadow Hill Titan Agatha, one of the farm’s show-winning cows. Guernsey While the Guernsey show was small, with four calves, they all qualified to go to the state show. Erin Smith, of Palmyra, showed her Lebanon Valley B Lilly, a winter (intermediate) calf, to win junior champion and grand champ ion honors. Thomas Spring, of Quarryville, showed a fall (senior) calf to win the reserve junior champion and reserve grand champion ribbons. Jersey In the Jersey show, Robert Pet rovich, of Cochranville, showed a 4-year-old cow, Vandenberg Knight Ella, to earn senior and grand champion honors, while his aged cow. Silver Bow Ringer, took reserve senior and reserve grand champion honors. The junior champion Jersey was a spring (junior) calf, WRF Terror Emma, shown by Patrick Jenkins, of Toughkenamon. The reserve junior champion was a fall calf, Sonnylee Alf Sarah, bred and owned by Joel Bomgard ner, of Lebanon. The top owner-bred animal among all the colored breeds was Craig Nolan’s champion Ayrshire, while Alicia Mase had the second best bred and owned animal, her champion Brown Swiss. In county group competition, Lebanon County 4-H took first place, followed by Chester County FFA and Chester County 4-H. In school group competition. Cedar Crest 4-H was first, fol lowed by Octorara FFA, and Elco 4-H. In a fit-out competition held the prior evening, Alan Hostetler, a Lebanon County Holstein breeder was judge. There were nine con testants, all qualifying for state competition. Among the 13-year-olds, Daryl Maulfair was champion, while among the 14-year-olds, Erica Shellenberger was first.
