This is the highest average in history for a Jersey consign ment sale. The 38 lots of cows and heifers were consigned by 26 U.S. Jersey breeders from nine states. The sale was a joint project between the Brazil Jersey Cattle Association, Pinheiro Machedo Ltd, Brazil; American Marketing Service, Va.; and the American Jersey Cattle Association. Topping the sale at $30,491 was BW Duncan Chief 1265, EX-90%, consigned by Brent wood Farms, Orland, Calif. “1265” has a projected mature equivalent (ME) of 27,962 pounds milk, 1,252 pounds fat and 957 pounds protein.
