Recently, Snider’s Elevator Inc., a feed and grain mill, hosted its sixth annual Horse Seminar. The seminar was held at the Lemasters Community Center. About 190 people attended the seminar, which included speakers, dooiprizes, and a Percheron stal lion exhibition. The seminar also included a question and answer session. Snider’s Elevator Inc., a manu facturer of horse, dairy, and live stock feeds, serves Franklin Coun ty and surrounding areas. A family owned and operated business since 1929, Snider’s have put together a unique horse seminar series over the last six years. This year’s feature speaker was master farrier, Bubby Rhoderick. Owner of Hawkview Horseshoeing Clin ic, Rhoderick specializes in hoof reconstruction and repair. Rhoderick’s presentation included hoof structure, hoof care, and management Rhoderick pre sented a slides and instruction on Air Quality Seminar May 27 LANCASTER (Lancaster Co.) —An indoor air quality seminar is scheduled Tuesday, May 27, at 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Lancaster Host Hotel and Conference Center. Guest speaker for the seminar is William Converse. Converse is the founder and president of Alpine Industries. He is an electrical engi neer and inventor and an interna tionally acclaimed lecturer and consultant. Seminar participants had an opportunity to visit with the speakers during snack break. A collection was taken to bene fit the Therapeutic Riding Center for the handicapped. The money was presented to TRC volunteer Nina Hill. The TRC is based in Chambersbuig and is staffed by a dedicated group of volunteers. Converse has addressed a gov ernment committee at a hearing on the Clean Air Act He has spoken to thousands of people on the sub ject of indoor air pollution and sol utions to the problem. In addition, he has recently completed site test ing in conjunction with various universities. The purpose of the testing was for the control of air borne disease, bacteria, and dust control.
