Producers Cooperative Association is. accepting applications for its annual Young Cooperator Spring Conference. The con-' fcrcncc which provides cduca don, leadership opportunities and fellowship to young cooperative members between die ages of 20 and 40 will be held March 4-6. 1997. in Gettysburg. This .year’s program will feature presentations on publ ic relations for agriculture, information about the cooperative, and a form tour. Panic jwnu in the confer ence may also opt to compete in Maryland and Virginia’s Young Cooperator contest. The contest, which includes an application, interview, and discussion roundtable, deter mines die naming of die cur rent year’s outstanding young coopoator. The outstanding young cooperator and runners up represent Maryland and Virginia at various functions including the National Milk Producers Federation Annual Meeting and Young Coopera tor program as well as the National Institute on Coopera tive Education. Say 1996 Outstanding YCs Richard and Naomi Speer, “One of our favorite parts of participating in the YC prog ram was learning the impor tance of addressing dairy problems and challenges with fresh ideas and market oriented strategies.” This year’s YC Spring Con ference is held in conjunction with Atlantic Dairy Coopera tive’s YC program. Applications to attend the conference are due February 7. Those wishing to compete in the YC contest must apply by January 31.
