AlB-Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 19, 1996 Animal Housing Expo Oct. 29-30 NORTH CORNWALL (Lebanon Co.) Producers can learn more about how to remodel and expand their livestock, dairy, and poultry facilities at the fifth annual Ani mal Housing Expo, OcL 29-30, at the Leba non Fairgrounds. The expo is sponsored by Penn State Cooperative Extension and various agribu sinesses. Hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admis sion is free. Designing and constructing animal hous ing facilities is a majot financial commitment. It is something that many producers will do only once or twice in their career. Thus, it should be done right the first time. The building and remodeling decisions producers make today will have a significant impact on how competitive their business will be in years to come. It will affect the health and productivity of their herd or flock, worker output, public relations, cash flow, and farm profits. Producers should take time to look at a lot of different facilities and talk to a lot of people before they make major remodeling and expansion decisions. The Animal Housing Expo helps producers accomplish this by providing them the oppor tunity to: • Visit approximately 40 commercial exhi bitors who can supply the products and ser vices they may need. • Hear presentations from nationally known and local experts. • Observe a variety of educational demon- • Agricultural • Commercial • Residential Heifer Facility Featuring 12' Wide x 8' Deep Manure Storage System with Waffle Slats • Retaining Walls • Bunker Silos • Manure Storage, Etc.
