Rebecca Lohr of New Paris took home a trophy from the second-age category, while Kyler Myers was second, and Kayla Dull, third. Myers was back with his black sheep saved from the butcher last year by a benevolent uncle who purchased “Blackie” from his sis ter at the Junior Livestock sale. The uncle, Roy Kegg, gave the sheep back to the owner who gave it to her younger brother, Kyler. The third-age category was won by Summer Lingenfelter of Alum Bank while Trisha Miller, Schells burg, was second. Handmade wool outfit competi tion had a total of six talented seamstresses. Aleecha Jones placed first; Heidi Shyrock, second; and Holly Schaeffer, third. Family fairs were won by Aleecha Jones and her cousin, Heidi Shyrock. Second was Kayla and Beau Dull. Third went to Heather and Margaret Schaeffer. In individual novelty competi tion, Matthew Stanton was first, Allison Shastay, second and Jacob Boswer third. Novelty winners in the fifth class, which included pairs, were: Rebecca Lohr and Hunter Lohr. Zach Conley and Kevin Thomas and Aaron, Elijah, a.id Joshua Claycomb. Forestry Invitational held at the Jackson’s Mill State 4-H Camp in West Virginia. Pennsylvania’s first-ever team placed 11th with 1228.5 total points. The team was made up of VfIEE Ellie Kokolis and Gus Pollack from Indiana County, John Albright from Bedford County, and Mike Leese from Fulton Lancaster fanning, Saturday, August 24 190647 Kayle and Beau Dull cut quite a splash In their handmade woolen outfits. Rebecca Lohr and her little brother, Hunter, were a hit with this “Wizard of Oz” scene. Rebecca was Dorothy; Hunter the lion; and the lamb was the Tin Man. County. Coaches were Jane Kokolis from Indiana County and Robert Hansen, extension forester in Bradford County. Steve Wacker, service forester with the Pennsyl vania Bureau of Forestry in Bed ford County, assisted in training the team for competition. Event planners complimented the Pennsylvania team for their excellent showing and the Pen nsylvania team finished above some past invitational winners.
