Special attractions and events are scheduled for the Ag Progress Days Hone Arena on all three days of the event A Haflinger breed clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Brian Egan, ex tension assistant in Penn Stale’s College of Agricultural Sciences, will conduct a horse handling clin ic from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Egan will demonstrate techniques for working with horses two years old or younger. Tack Area Feed Room On Wednesday, August 14, Paso Fino breed clinics will be held at 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The Horse Arena will feature “Horsin’ Around Fun and Safe Horseback Games,” from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Kathy Brown, manager of Ka- My Stables in Belle fonte, will conduct this session. Miniature hors es from Foalie-A-Deux Farm also will be on display at the arena Wednesday afternoon. From 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.. Centre County 4-H Horse Clubs will present a mounted flag presentation, and the Pennsylvania Quarter Horse Association will give a presentation on safety guidelines for working with horses. From 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., the event will fea ture breed clinics and demonstrations, a thera peutic riding exhibition, and a presentation by the Cumberland County 4-H Drill Team. Draft breed clinics and demonstrations will be featured from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. At 6 p.m., events begin with a flag presentation from Cen tre County 4-H Horse Clubs, the Cumberland County 4-H Drill Team, and draft horse driving demonstrations. The evening program also will feature a special tri bute to Skip Sioux. On Thursday, Aug. IS, a horse handling clinic with Brian Egan will be held from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. A training clinic on com petitive trail riding, fea turing Patty Lambert, Mary Bums and Kim Bookhammer, will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Fencing options for horse facilities will be displayed and demon strated throughout the event Penn State’s Ag Progress Days features more than 500 acres of educational and com mercial exhibits, tours and machinery demon strations.
