Melissa Holloway of Lancas ter County stitched an unique and original hand-woven vest and lined, linen skirt for her ninth year jewing project Melissa selected various fabrics, trims, and ribbons in weaving the vest For the back of the vest and skirt. Melissa chose cotton-linen teal. The shoestring tie on her skirt and the frog closure on her vest are the same medium used in the vest. • Elizabeth Klaassen of Lancas ter County modeled a short, light weight linen dress, which she made for her ninth year in sewing. Her fitted dress is fully lined with an invisible zipper and hook and eye closure. A black and white plaid was used for the bodice. Eli zabeth is involved in acting in the Ephrata Area Community Theater and won honors this year for out standing achievement in acting in Pennsylvania. Her other activities include rifle team, gymnastics, and church youth group. • Tanisha Seibert stitched a for mal cranberry satin gown featuring a basque waistline and an illusion neckling created with the allure stretch mesh. Tanisha’s fully-lined gown is accented with 48 covered buttons, various bridal appliques and lace. Her biggest challenge was dyeing the allure stretch mesh, bridal loops, appliques, and lace. The process took about four days to complete. Tanisha, who is from Lebanon, has been in 4-H sewing club for eight years. • Terri Seibert, a sister to Tanis ha, is in her tenth year of sewing. Terri selected chiffon fabric for tlye lined formal dress featuring bias shoulder straps, front princess seams and a flared, front pleated overskirt. She accented her dress with textured silver buttons and a scarf of the chiffon fabric. Terri graduated from Lower Dauphin High School. • Angie Whitcraft modeled a gray button-front jumper with a V neckling and front and back darts. PAUL B. (< « Angie’s calf-length jumper has upper and lower mock welts and back ties. It is made of rayon polyester blend plaid. Angie is a graduate of Susquehannock High School in York County where she was a member of concert, march ing bands, class council, and National Honor Society. She will attend Shippensburg Universtity in the fall. Forty young people represent ing seven 4-H clubs participating in clothing and textile science pro jects attended the 1996 4-H Fash ion Revue on Friday, June 28, at Ware Presbyterian Village, Oxford.
