tion declaring June as Dairy Month. Supporting representa
tives of the state’s agriculture community include, from the

nsylvania Fanners Union; Karl Kroeck, chairman of the Pa.
Dairy Promotion Board, a dairy farmer and township super
visor; George Stambaugh, a dairy farmer, board member of
Milk Marketing Inc., and member of the American Dairy
Association and Dairy Council; Ivo Otto, a dairy farmer,
chairman of the board of directors for Atlantic Dairy
Cooperative and Mid-Atlantic Milk Marketing Association;
Doroth Naugle, with Allied Milk Producers; Janice (tie,
Allied Milk Producers board member; Gordon Hiller, master
of the Pennsylvania State Grange. In the back row, from the
left, are Logan Bower, a dairy farmer and president of the
Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association; and Guy Donald
son, fruit grower and president of the Pennsylvania Farm
Bureau. The group gathered in the state Capitol recently to
mark the occasion. More than 38 percent of agricultural
income in Pennsylvania is generated by milk sales. Sales
from milk alone represents a $1.46 billion contribution to •
the state's economy. The state's processing plants and
manufacturers add to the value of milk. Last year, 645,000
dairy cows produced 10.6 billion pounds of milk. The state
also ranks second nationally in production of Ice cream (at
66 million gallons) and sixth iri cheese(34B million pounds).
As part of June Dairy Month, MAMMA Is sponsoring Dairy
Day June 5 at the Philadelphia County Fair. Other stents
include a June 19 dairy night with the Reading Phillies, and
June 20 with the Harrisburg Senators. The ADAME is spon
soring a dairy night on June 24 with the Erie Sea Wolves
