Like many areas in the state, growers often want the standard geraniums and petunias, because of their hardi ness, their early flower ing, and their predict able growth, according ito Elkner. Also, the cool weath er will slow down the growth and flowering of some of the exotics. But when warm weather arrives, many should blossom really nicely. , Even some of the more common plants such as the vinca won’t be fully blooming until the weather warms up. Sometime in the sum mer, the Master Garden ers will open their home gardens to tours. Also, the Master Gar deners are planning a plant “mailbox’’ on site at the Farm and Home Center.' The mailbox, near the Idea Garden itself, will house infor mation for those who tour the garden that will describe what is grown and how to care for indi vidual plants. Also planted this year ate the Palm Springs Daisy, the Cigar Plant, Vipers Buglass, Mexi can Tulip Poppy, Sun flower, Tidy Tips, Mal low Wort, Flowering Maple, Rock Parslave, Morning Glory, Twin Spur, Cup Flower, and Zinnia.
