Two weeks after the swelling Sus quehanna-River and what is now known as the flood of 1996 washed out meeting plans for the Bradford County Holstein Club, members came out in full force to elect new directors and learn about upcom ing events. High on the agenda was the election of new directors. Joining A 1 Calkins. Jeff Jenkins. Duane Wilcox, Dick Packard, Tom Wright and Ray Norconk on the board are re-elected directors Dean Jackson and Bonnie Miller, and newly elected director Keith Thomson. Paul Sheeley, was thanked for his yean of service as a director as he went off the board. On March 16. the club has sche duled an in-county lour at the farms of Clair Thrush and Bob Whipple. A visit to a third farm is also planned, but details were unavailable at the meeting. A two-day tour to Canada has also been planned by club member Sandra Crawford with cooperation from Semex. The trip, set for March 28 and 29, includes stops in Guelph, Woodbridge, and Stratford. On Tuesday, March 28, the tour begins with a stop at the National Convention Classic, Brubachers Sales Arena in Guelph. Ontario, followed by a stop at United Breeders. Inc., also in Guelph. In the afternoon, tour stops are planned at Quality Farm, Field house Farms and Sunny Maple Farm. Reasonable Rates Call (215) 886-5508 for information. Friday will be spent at the Ontario Spring Show. Following the crowning of the grand champ ion, the tour group will depart for home. The tour is open to the public.
