Lewis was honored with a spe
cial appreciation award for many
years of service to 4-H as sheep
club buyer, contributor, and in
other ways.
Lewis, an ag lender at Farmers
First Bank in Lititz for 23 years,
has helped the Lancaster 4-H clubs
“every year.” according to Chet
Hughes, county livestock agent
Lewis contributed to the 4-H
Development Fund to help the
award-winning Lancaster County
4-H livestock team. In addition,
Lewis allowed 4-H livestock judg
ing team members to practice on
his five-acre farm outside
Landisville.
On his farm, Lewis said he

a chance,” he said.

4-H agent.
There were nearly 200 bidders
at Saturday’s auction at the Farm
and Home Center, with total sales
of nearly $lO,OOO, according to
Parker.
Total profit from the sale was
SB,SOO. Parker said that support
came from the “whole community
and from four states.”
