Discounts will now be valued at the same level as premiums. In addition, to address custom ers’ requests for a move uniform and consistent product, Hatfield will be adjusting the sort penalty for hogs significantly outside the desired weight range. The weight categories immedi ately outside the desired range remain unaffected. Hatfield will continue to maintain one of the. widest desired weightranges in the industry. These changes are viewed by Hatfield as positive steps toward providing greater returns for Hat field’s hog producers.
